New Release

     On March 26, 2018 at approximately 4:27 p.m. Officers from the Paragould Police Department responded to a 911 call in reference to an altercation involving weapons near the Pecan Grove area in Paragould, Arkansas.

     Upon arrival officers located Frank Prejean in the middle of the road near his car, also on scene was a male family member who had been stabbed and a female family member who had been injured by being hit in the head with a cane. The female had about an inch and 1/2 laceration behind her ear.

     The female stated that Frank Prejean had stabbed her brother and then had hit her in the head with his cane during an altercation.

     A witness on scene stated that the three individuals were in an altercation and she witnessed the male subject (Frank Prejean) hit the male victim several times with a cane and then stab him. She further stated that after Prejean stabbed the male victim the female ran toward him and he hit her in the head with the large walking cane.

     The male victim was transported by ambulance to Arkansas Methodist Medical Center where he later died due to his injuries.

     There was a large knife visible in the floorboard of the car partially under the front seat and the driver side door was open.

     This is an ongoing investigation and no additional information will be released at this time.
